Park Improvements – Winter Work

When we close for the winter the work doesn't stop at Newlands Holidays. During the break this year we have been busier than ever continuing to make improvements to the park. Some areas have undergone a significant transformation ready for opening earlier this month.

We recently opened up again for the new 2022 season. Here is a look back at just some of the work carried out over winter - as you can see we have been very busy. We hope you like the improvements!

Updates to the outdoor swimming pool

One of the biggest changes we've made at Newlands is the removal of the slide from the outdoor swimming pool. We've also created a larger surround and toddler splash area. We can't wait for the warmer months when this area will be enjoyed by families in the summertime.

General park maintenance

We take great pride in the appearance of the park and the winter is a great time for us keep up the general park maintenance. This includes hedge trimming, laying and tidying of the park's outdoor areas. We hope the work behind the scenes has helped to make the site clean and tidy ready for guests.

Preparations for new lodges

We said a fond farewell to 4 of our Dorset lodges and prepared the bases ready for the new arrivals due to arrive in 2022. If you'd like to find out more about the new additions take a look at the accommodation pages. The Wiltshire lodge is a fine example of the excellent standard of accommodation available at Newlands.

We also brought a brand new privately owned lodge onto the site during the winter break. As well as maintenance of all of the hire fleet, from caravans to en-suite rooms – all ready for opening day.

Car park facelift

On our list for improvements was our car park area. During the winter break we've taken the time to spruce up this area quite considerably. The area has now been decorated with new gabion baskets which serves as a convenient ledge to take a seat while you wait for the X51/53 bus! This bus service can take you to many of the popular destinations surrounding the park, including Lyme Regis, Axminster, Bridport, Westbay, Weymouth and more!
