Newlands Holidays Wins Holiday Park of the Year Gold at the Dorset Tourism Awards!

A Night to Remember

The awards ceremony took place at the Weymouth Pavilion, celebrating the very best of Dorset’s tourism and hospitality. The evening was opened by Robin Barker and hosted by BBC Radio presenter Steve Harris, with industry and guest speakers including Nell barrington and BBC Newsreader Jane Hill. It was a truly special night, bringing together inspiring businesses and individuals from across the county.

A Family-Run Park with Heart

Since 1956, Newlands has welcomed guests to the beautiful Jurassic Coast. Under the Ireland family’s ownership since 1998, the park has grown from a small team of five to more than forty, all sharing the same mission: to provide affordable, quality holidays and to be a true asset to the local community.

What Makes Newlands Stand Out

Our award win highlights the areas we’re most proud of:

  • Friendly, well-trained staff who go the extra mile for every guest — supported by new welfare facilities to enhance daily life at work.

  • A commitment to sustainability, including 90kW of solar panels powering our pools and new biodiversity planting across the park.

  • Strong community connections, such as winter and mid-season swim memberships that make our leisure facilities accessible to both locals and visitors.

  • Innovative marketing collaborations, working with Daisy Upton (Five Minute Mum), SHO, Visit Dorset, and Premier Parks to share our story with new audiences.

A Big Thank You

This award belongs to our team, our guests, and our community — each playing a part in making Newlands the welcoming, family-friendly destination it is today. We’re so proud to represent Charmouth, the Jurassic Coast and Dorset Tourism at its very best.

And if you’d like a glimpse behind the celebrations, take a look through out blog gallery where our Grounds and Maintenance Manager, James, gives the main course his full seal of approval! 🍽️😄

'Excellent site with clean facilities, friendly staff!'

'Friendly staff, the staff in the shop was incredibly welcoming! Loved how we were escorted to our pitch and also offered help with putting the caravan on the pitch. Swimming pool was small but ideal, good sauna! Outdoor pool was lovely also! Facilities were spotless considering we had awful weather they work extremely hard! Very clean site, great value for money!'

"Definitely will be back"

Good location with Charmouth beach and lyme regis near. Nice facilities on site and nice rooms. The tow bar restaurant is a gem with great food. Liked the activities on our stay like bingo. Overall a good stay and would love to come back again.

"Everything we needed"

Very tidy site, well laid out and well equipped. Towbar restaurant offered a good selection of quality food at all meal times, very good value for money and super friendly service. There is a small shop on site for all your essentials with access to another slightly larger shop in the village. Two pools and children’s play areas plus a gaming room were a real bonus. Shower and toilet blocks were cleaned regularly and always kept in good order. Location is fantastic, especially for avid fossil hunters with Charmouth beach around 20 minutes easy walk away through the village.

"What a wonderful place"

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Newlands. We stayed in the studio apartment block down the end (A17). The apartment was incredibly clean, spacious and had everything we needed for a short stay. My twin sons (3.5 years old) had the twin room, mum had the double bed, and I stayed on a blow up mattress that I brought with. We were very comfy.
