Brewery Palmers Tour

If you're looking for a unique activity to enjoy with your loved one during a couples' holiday in Dorset, then we highly recommend a Palmers Brewery Tour.  During the tour, an expert guide will lead you on an insightful journey through the production process of Palmers five award-winning ales. Create lasting memories with your partner at this delightful attraction during your stay at Newland Holidays Park in Charmouth.

Award-winning ales

Recognised for its distinctive taste and mouth-watering flavours, Palmers Brewery is one of the best small independent brewers in the UK. Using a mix of traditional and modern methods, they have been producing award-winning ales from their home in Bridport since 1794.

Meet your guide at Palmers Wine Store, before making the short walk to the brewery’s Malt Loft, which is situated next to the River Brit. The river once played an integral role in the brewing process. Inside, you'll be talked through the various bits of machinery and the technological advancements that have modernised the process. The friendly guide will tell you stories of townspeople who have worked in the brewery through the ages. You'll hear funny tales and delve deep into the history of this family enterprise.

Throughout the tour, you will acquire a deep understanding of one of Britain's oldest family-owned breweries and their dedicated efforts to create the highest quality cask-conditioned real ale. The tour concludes back at the wine store, where you can sample a pint (or two) of the delicious beer that you witnessed being crafted.

Palmers Pubs

End the date with a lovely meal at one of Palmers local pubs. Palmers have five excellent pubs in Bridport and over 40 pubs throughout Dorset, Devon and Somerset. The nearest pub is the Ropemakers, which is located just a one-minute stroll away. The White Lion is a three-minute walk from there. Both are known for their delicious food and friendly atmosphere - the perfect date spot for lunch or dinner to end your day.
