Charmouth Camping - Something for Everyone!



Ask 100 people what camping means to them, and you’ll most likely get 100 wildly different responses. It’s something that people often have really strong thoughts about, even if they’ve never actually done it. For some of us it evokes positive associations with nature, freedom and the great outdoors, while for others it conjures memories of camping trips from our school days, with difficult to assemble tents, bad weather and  equally bad food.

Well we’d like to urge you to put aside any preconceptions of camping breaks, and try one for yourself here at our Charmouth campsite. Our lovely picturesque site is tucked away in a quiet corner of the park, so you’ll be free to enjoy the peace of the Dorset countryside and the gentle sound of birdsong each morning.

And while we can never guarantee good weather, the Dorset Jurassic coast is one of the warmest places in the UK, so you’ll have a better chance of avoiding the rain in Charmouth and Lyme Regis than you would almost anywhere else in the country.

A lot of people’s reluctance towards camping comes from the idea that it involves ‘roughing it’, but at Newlands we’ve made sure all the best modern amenities are on hand for your convenience, including a launderette, heated toilets, showers and baby changing facilities. We also offer those other handy little luxuries like hairdryers and wi-fi internet to make your stay as fun and comfortable as possible. It’s truly a luxury campsite for the 21st century – a world away from the grim, basic image people often have of camping!

And if that’s not enough, we’ll happily put your tent up for you when you arrive at our Charmouth campsite, meaning no frustrating  messing about with tent pegs and poles – just sit back, relax and enjoy the glorious Dorset countryside with the sea just moments away.

'Friendly staff, the staff in the shop was incredibly welcoming! Loved how we were escorted to our pitch and also offered help with putting the caravan on the pitch. Swimming pool was small but ideal, good sauna! Outdoor pool was lovely also! Facilities were spotless considering we had awful weather they work extremely hard! Very clean site, great value for money!'

Good location with Charmouth beach and lyme regis near. Nice facilities on site and nice rooms. The tow bar restaurant is a gem with great food. Liked the activities on our stay like bingo. Overall a good stay and would love to come back again.
 

"Everything we needed"

Very tidy site, well laid out and well equipped. Towbar restaurant offered a good selection of quality food at all meal times, very good value for money and super friendly service. There is a small shop on site for all your essentials with access to another slightly larger shop in the village. Two pools and children’s play areas plus a gaming room were a real bonus. Shower and toilet blocks were cleaned regularly and always kept in good order. Location is fantastic, especially for avid fossil hunters with Charmouth beach around 20 minutes easy walk away through the village.
 

"What a wonderful place"

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Newlands. We stayed in the studio apartment block down the end (A17). The apartment was incredibly clean, spacious and had everything we needed for a short stay. My twin sons (3.5 years old) had the twin room, mum had the double bed, and I stayed on a blow up mattress that I brought with. We were very comfy.
