Winter at Newlands
We closed down for the winter at the beginning of November after a great end of season party with the New Hero’s ending the night with a bang! We had a fantastic season here at Newlands and cannot wait to welcome you all back in 2018.
While most of our staff are having a quiet winter we still have the Reception, Grounds and Maintenance teams, Shop Manager and our House Keeper here keeping the Park ticking over. Our reception is open from 09:00-16:30 Monday-Friday and 09:00-14:00 Saturday-Sunday. You are more than welcome to pop in and enquire about any plans to stay with us in the new season or even have a look around our brand new
2017 Swift Antibes caravan we currently have for sale, would make a very nice Christmas treat!
Although we don’t have many guests on the Park during the winter
months we are all kept very hard at work! Last month the Grounds and Maintenance team have got straight to work re-laying the electricity cables for our black touring field, burying them deep down under the field out of the way of any tent pegs!
Work has also began on our Top Toilet block, where we are re-flooring & updating the whole area including the roof. This is your closest amenity area when touring in the blue or black field and even staying in the pods. After some welcomed feedback from our static owners who also use these amenities and tourers from our surveys in the back of our Park guides we decided it was time this block was given a re-vamp!
Our take-away is also having a little touch up and will be our sales office from 2018, concentrating on caravan sales and enquires. Don't fear though, take-away food can still be purchased from The Tow Bar & Restaurant!
Over the whole Park, the Grounds team have been pruning and trimming back the hedges and trees creating space for new to grow through in the spring. Selections of trees and shrubs that bloom during the spring/summer and have a fragrant scent are taking place with the team manager James. These
will give the Park an extra burst of life as we welcome our lovely guests back!
Steve'o and Darren from the Maintenance team have been busy over the last few weeks removing the loose tiles, replacing & re-grouting the bottom of the pool ready for the New Year. How many tiles do you think we replaced? Comment with your guesses!
We had a couple of great competitions to enter during November, ending at the beginning of December. One to win a 7 night stay in a Lodge during June 2018 for you and up to 6 guests, this was open to any guests who stayed with us during the 2017 season, closing date was the 1
st December. The lucky winner was
Stephen Heptinstall, he has booked ready for June and we cannot wait to welcome him back! We also held a competition for our seasonal pitch holders and static caravan owners to win a 2 course meal and a bottle of wine in The Tow Bar & Restaurant! Closing date for this was the 11
th December and the winners will be contacted on Friday 15
th.

We may be a little quieter over the next couple of weeks on our social media pages and blog as we are closed for Christmas from the 19th December to the 2nd January. We look forward to hearing from and seeing you all in 2018!
