Another popular part of the regatta and carnival week is the torchlight parade. Starting at Langmoor Gardens, the procession made up 100's of participants heads through the streets towards the beach. On the seafront magnificent circle of light is formed before a giant beacon is lit. For torchbearers and those just watching, the parade is a great spectacle to be part of.

One of the most charming events is the display of candles floating peacefully along the river. You can sponsor a candle with a special message and watch it drift gently down the river. Candle cards can be purchased from the carnival kiosk or from Jericho Bridge from 8pm on the evening of the event.

The Duck Race is another iconic part of the events programme and great fun to get involved. For just £1 you can claim your duck, then watch hundreds of rubber ducks floating down the River Lim. The race starts at Higher Mill flats, Windsor Terrace, with the finishing line at Jordan Flats. As an extra incentive, there are some great cash prizes up for grabs for the winners!
