Newlands Beer Festival Weekend - 21st - 23rd June 2013Treat Dad to the weekend away following Fathers Day and come and sample a great selection of real ales and ciders. Shanty Singers from Lyme Regis Gig Club will appear on Friday night followed by a disco. Saturday brings a BBQ from 1pm -3pm with Saxophone Jazz music from 2pm = 3pm and live music in the evening. A fun weekend of activities and ales.

Lyme Regis Lifeboat Week 26th July - 2nd August 2013
A wide range of events for all the family held at various locations around Lyme Regis www.rnli.org.uk.
Lots of fun all week from the beach and harbour at Lyme Regis. Seven days of activities get under way on Friday July 26th. In 2012 the Red Bull Harbour Reach, the Red Bull Matadors Air Display team and the RAF Falcons parachute display team all featured with their spectacular shows. The Red Arrows are scheduled to appear on the opening day of Friday 26th July 2013.

Honiton Show 15th August 2013Honiton Show is a showcase for the best of local farming, crafts and rural skills. It draws exhibitors and visitors from all walks of life. Over 20,000 people attend the show and in the region of 1500 livestock entries are received.
The show is proud to host The West Of England Hound Show - a show within a show - which attracts entries from more working packs of hounds than any other event of its kind in the country. There are more than 350 trade exhibitors, which makes the show one of East Devon’s biggest business events.

Bridport Carnival 17th August 2013The main weekend for 2013 is on Saturday August 17th and Sunday August 18th. Events arcorss th town from 10am - 8pm
The Grand Carnival Procession sets off from St Swithun’s Road at 7.30pm on Saturday night folowed by dancing from 9pm - 1am.

Sunday August 18th. ThE torchlight procession is the grande finale – and one of the highpoints – Bridport Carnival. The river of fire leaves the Town Hall at 7.30 pm but people can buy their torches in Bucky Doo Square from 6.30pm onwards.

2013 Melplash Show - Thursday 22nd August The Melplash Agricultural Show takes place at the Showground, West Bay, Bridport on Thursday 22nd August. Attracting around 16,000 visitors a year from town and country, it is no surprise that it is regarded as the South West’s Premier one day Agricultural Show, and is known by regular visitors as the ‘friendly’ Show. Show includes many Agricultural exhibitions, heavy horse display, trade stands, food hall, By the sea stand, Professor Crump and Sheridan the Sheep Dog and much more..........

The Great Dorset Steam Fair 28th August 2013Wednesday 28th August until Sunday 1st September 2013
This major annual event showcases our national industrial, agricultural and leisure history. Last year hosted stunt displays from The Royal Signals Motorbike Display Team and The International Bug Pete Monster Truck Display Team. There was also Steam Exhibitions, Vintage and Classic vehicles and Rural displays.

This is the 11th year of the Artsfest andwill be a lively celebration of the arts, showcasing the quality and diversity of local talent. Meet artists in their studios; follow the art trail in over 100 shops through the town; visit exhibitions; learn a new skill (stained glass, mixed media, dance, poetry, photography and painting) in one of many workshops; experience an ArtsFest event including dance, drama, film, concert, street theatre, stone-balancing and busking.
Jane Austen Tour
On the tour you will follow in the footsteps of Austen and her characters, see the steps from which Louisa Musgrove fell on the famous Cobb and visit the inns mentioned in the novel. Booking is advisable.
Mary Anning, The Fossil Woman of Lyme Tour
In modern times Mary Anning is recognized as one of the worlds greatest fossil hunters. In 1811 Mary discovered the first complete Ichythyosaur in the cliffs near Lyme Regis. She and her family went on to discover many more species which aided scientific study and provided evidence for the theory of evolution. During this tour you will see where Mary lived and where she sold her fossils.
Architecture of the Undercliff
Enjoy an all day outing on this 8 mile woodland trek from Lyme Regis to Seaton through the Undercliff National Nature Reserve. With stunning views across Lyme Bay this tour includes historical informaiton on great Victorian houses, country living, farming, the English Civil war, smuggling and the compelling landscapes that inspired literary greats. Please note this walk is strenuous; no under 18s and not suitable for pushchairs.

5 days of Halloween fun including creepy kids club, haunted alley (Thursday and Friday), and much much more...ending with our Halloween Ball on Saturday night 2nd November with live music and optional fancy dress. There will be a prize for the best dressed.

River Cottage day courses and evening events River Cottage day courses and evening events run throughout the year. Including a four day cookery course at Park Farm. All four days are completely hands on and you will learn all the essential skills based around Bread & Pastry, Meat, Fish, and Vegetables. You will learn about home smoking, cooking offal, marinating fish and some outdoor cooking. There are also events at the Store and Canteen which was featured in the chicken out programme with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and filmed in nearby Axminster.

Head of Events Steven Lamb has penned his latest update from River Cottage HQ as work gets underway on the temporary structure which will replace the barn while it's restored to its former glory. Friday and Saturday evening meals and cookery courses are still available for March.
